Chapter 9 Probes
Using Ultrasound Gel
Using an inappropriate ultrasound gel may damage the probe. For proper transmission of the acoustic
beam, only use ultrasound transmission gels approved by Samsung Medison.
WARNING:

Do not use mineral oil, oil-based solutions, or other non-approved materials, as they may cause
damage to the probe.

Do not use ultrasound gels that contain one or more of the following substances:
− Acetone
− Methanol
− Denatured alcohol
− Mineral oil
− Iodine
− Lanoline
− All lotions or gels that contain aromatic substances
