Chapter 5 Measurements and Calculations

 Distance + Ellipse

This is a basic measurement that is available in all diagnosis modes. You can measure the volume of an

object in a 2D image by using one straight line and one circle (ellipse).

Distance + Ellipse. “Distance + Ellip

se” is displayed in the user information

area.

Specify two points and measure the straight distance between them. The method for measuring a line

is the same as in “Distance.”

Specify the size of the circle (ellipse). The method for measuring a circle (ellipse) is the same as in “Ellipse.”

When the measurement is nished, its result is shown on the screen.

X D: The length of a straight line

X Long: The length of the long axis in an ellipse

X Short: The length of the short axis in an ellipse

X Area: The area of a circle

X Vol.: Volume

The equations used for Distance + Ellipse measurement are as follows:

(a : Short axis, b : Long axis , d : Distance)
