Chapter 7 Diagnosis Modes
Power Doppler Mode
This mode displays the color intensity of blood ow within the ROI in the 2D image.
It is appropriate for examining the presence and amount of blood ow. The 2D Mode image is also
shown, allowing the marking and adjustment of the ROI within the entire image.

Entering & Exiting PD Mode
Press the PD button on the control panel to enter PD mode. Press this button again. PD Mode will
be terminated and the mode will switch to 2D.

Color Bar
In PD mode, the color bar displayed varies depending on the Power Doppler mode display
method that is in use. The color bar indicates the presence of blood ow and its amount. The
top of the color bar is the brightest section, where the amount of blood ow is at its highest.
ROI Box
The ROI (Region of Interest) outlines the area of the 2D image where color (blood ow)
information is displayed in Power Doppler Mode.
