Basic Operations
Use the following methods to optimize an image in each diagnosis mode.
Using Control Panel
The following are the controls commonly available in all diagnosis modes.
■
Gain
This adjusts the image brightness. Turn the dial-button clockwise to increase gain.
■
Q Scan
NOTE: Q Scan is available for 2D Mode and PW Spectral Doppler Mode only.
Press the dial-button to show the ‘Q Scan’ label at the top of the screen. Q Scan stands for Quick
Scan.
In 2D Mode, gain, TGC, etc. are automatically adjusted for optimal brightness and contrast of the
image. In PW Spectral Doppler Mode, scale and baseline are automatically adjusted for the optimal
spectrum condition. Press the dial-button to show the ‘Q Scan’ label at the top of the screen. Press
the Exit button to disable Q Scan.
■
Angle
NOTE: Angle is available for 2D Mode and PW Spectral Doppler Mode only.
In PW Spectral Doppler Mode, rotate the dial-button to adjust the angle of the sample volume by 1°.
In 2D Mode and View Area is not 100%, rotate the 2D image left or right side.
■
TGC
Use the sliders to adjust gain for the 6 dierent areas of the image, divided according to image
depth. Move the slider toward + (the right) to increase gain and make the image brighter. Among
the 6 sliders, the topmost slider is for the shallowest area and the lower sliders are for deeper areas.
In general, the deeper the area you want to view, the weaker the ultrasound penetration becomes.
Use TGC to compensate for the weakened penetration. TGC stands for Time Gain Compensation.
